SISTER (Cari) interview
Hello SISTER! How are you doing?
Hi!
We are doing great. Thanks!
At the moment we are working with a brand new video and we've actually just finished the shooting of a second one.
Planning world domination and stuff like that.. The usuall!
You recently released an album called ‘Hated.’ What made you come up with that album title?
I've had that title stucked in my head for a long time. Somehow it represents us, I think we are a typicall love/hate band.
I told the other guys about calling the album Hated when we started to finish the songs for it. The day after, Lestat showed up with a brand new riff and some killer lyrics for the title track.
It's a short and powerfull name.
Four guys called Sister with an album called Hated.. It's just perfect;)

How long have you been working on the album?
It's really hard to tell.. There are lyrics and ideas in this album that are very old, but it also includes stuff that we came up with during the recording process. All mixed together. I think we started to aim on the album as soon as Lestat joined the band, about two years ago. To just get our stuff together. The recording process took a few months. We knew what we wanted and that's what we got.
Martin Sweet from Crashdiet helped produce this album? How did that partnership form? Does this mean you might tour with Crashdiet?
This means nothing more than the fact that Martin is a very good friend of ours, along with the other guys in Crash. Martin is a great songwriter and we had a perfect teamwork together with him in the studio. We have talked with the guys about touring together, it would be aswesome for sure! We'll see what happends;)
Speaking of touring, is there going to be a UK tour?
Yes. For sure! Nothing official but we are working on it. Keep your eyes open!
You’ve had a few line up changes in the past, talk me through them. How did you four end up together?
We were about 16years old when we started Sister. People grow up (haha!), find other things in life or what ever. Actually, we've only had a bassplayer that left the band during the first year and Dani, our former guitarist, in the earlier years. I don't see us as a band that switch members all the time. Todays lineup got signed to Metal Blade and recorded the debut album and this is how it's going to be. What we have now are four guys that are in to this to 100%.
Who are your influences? Are there any new bands that you’ve recently discovered?
Where should I begin.. Kiss, Crüe, Hanoi Rocks, Guns n' roses, Misfits.., the classic rock n' roll and punk bands. I listen to a lot heavier music as well, a lot of underground music and stuff like that. When I have the time, I check out new bands, I love to discover new stuff! Speaking about former members of Sister. The two guys that I started Sister together with, are now playing in a band called Ass & the frenchem. They're awesome! Some kind of gypsy punk stuff.

You also have had quite a dramatic change in your clothing style, is this due to a change in your influences or just because you got bored of your old style?
We just like to push thing I guess. This wasn't something that we sat down and planned, it just came naturally. Wait another ten years and see if you'll recognize us!
You have many tattoos; can you explain your favourite ones?
In the latest issue of revolver magazine, you can see and read about Rikki's drunken version of shout at the devil, that one is awesome one for sure! Our legs are pretty filled with stupid home made tattoos and scars.
We used to put kitchen knifes in the fire and then cut ourselves with them. Drunken scarification was the result. Then we used mascara as ink, hehe. that was fun.
Who do you aim your music too? Is there a particular type of person that you want to listen to your songs?
No, we're not playing for a certain type of people. Anyone who like our stuff. We have created a band that sounds and looks just the way we want it.
In the first place, we play for ourselves. If you like it, that's even better!
Sister music is for your daughter, your grandma, your mother, your aunt AND your little sister!
What do you think about downloading music?
I think that downloading music makes people download almost all of their music today, instead of buying it, wich makes us poor musicians totally broke... So, what I'm trying to say is basiclly... I think it's fucking great! Keep it up:)
What are you goals for the band in the future? Are there any particular festivals or bands you’d like to play with?
Tour, tour and touring! We'll hit Europe in September/November and December. Hopefully USA and UK early 2012. The last tour of 2011 is together with U.D.O. and it's gonna be a blast for sure!

Now for some fun questions!
Which member of Sister is:
The funny one - Lestat
The clever one - Lestat
The most romantic - Lestat
The laziest - Lestat
The wild one - Lestat
For the following questions, pick which one of the options you prefer:
Horror films or action films?
Disney films
Summer or winter?
Fall
Tattoos or piercings?
Piercings, cause you can always remove them if you.... nah, wait!! That was my mom's answer;)
Festivals or small shows?
There is something special with small sweaty clubs, that's for sure!
Fortune or fame?
Nah... Music is fine for me.
Facebook or myspace?
Myspace seems to be pretty fucked up nowdays..
Finally, can you each tell me one random fact about yourself?
Ok, here's one: I'm very bad at telling random facts about myself.
Thank you very much for your time and hopefully we’ll be seeing you guys on tour soon!
Thank you! See you for sure:)
