Vains of Jenna Interview
Vains of Jenna is deffinatly one of the most popular rising new sleazebands.
They started out in Sweden, but nowadays they live in Hollywood! They made it in the scene of today, that's for sure.
Wit their first full length album 'Lit up/let down', and their second 'The art of telling lies' we sure got the hunger to know some more 'bout them!
In this interview, Jacki tells us 'bout the life between two different parts of the world, and ofcourse about their new singer!
How difficult is it to juggle between Hollywood and Sweden/Europe?
Jacki: It’s all good… I’m happy we are able to go back and forth as much as we do and play everywhere in the world. Not many bands gets to do that.
What are the main differences between the audiences, which ones do you prefer?
Jacki: There is no real difference actually. You can have good and bad nights, playing wise and audience wise both in the U.S and Europe. It really depends on what day of the week, city etc. you are in. Our fans rock everywhere!!! Doesn’t matter where we are in the world!
Did you ever take some time to look back on the developments in the band, how did it
strike you?
Jacki: Yeah it’s been a major change to the line up. I do feel very good about it and have NO regrets over what happened. I see this as a great thing for the band.

What were the difficulties/advantages of working with a new singer?
Jacki: Well, the band was built from nothing from the previous line up over 5 years and we are all friends. At the same time the energy, fire and comitment wasn’t there for a longer period of time from Lizzys side and looking back that affected the rest of us too.
I know this is a great thing that happened. Jesse is an amazing frontman and singer, great guy and we have all already got very close and it feels like we’ve been friends forever. Along with our new rythm guitar player Anton Sevholt, who is an old friend of ours, VAINS OF JENNA is more ready than ever to rock!
How do the old songs translate when sung by Jesse?
Jacki: It’s not an easy thing to do for Jesse to sing songs ”written” for Lizzy, but man, Jesse has a natural singing voice and can manage all styles of music. He kicks ass on the old songs. We can’t wait to record some new stuff with songs… ment to be for him though. I think that will really do good!
Can we expect a style switch, away from the raunchy, groovy r'n'r we're used to?
Jacki: I can’t tell you what VAINS OF JENNA will sound like. We have always written whatever we want and not going in one particular direction. It’s just Rock N Roll.
How did fans on the continent and across the ocean react to the frontman switch?
Jacki: Really, really good! The audience can’t get their eyes of off Jesse. If people is sceptic in the beginning, they will have their minds changed after a few songs. The rest of us, Nicki, JP, Anton and me are tighter than VAINS OF JENNA ever been before! With that said, everyone should come out and see VAINS OF JENNA live!
What are the plans for the near future?
Jacki: We are going to continue touring Europe and then head to the U.S for more touring, writing, recording, more touring etc. etc.
How reactive is Sweden in general to the glam scene?
Jacki: It’s been a sleaze and glam scence here for a couple of years now, and I think it’s still rockin.
Any advice for beginning bands, seen as things took off quick and big for you?
Jacki: I say this all the time, but it’s very true… Don’t be afraid to take risks. Nothing is gonna happen if you just sit in your garage playing… Get out there, play LIVE, connect with poeple and just do what you love!
