French band ‘Pleasure Addiction’ is on a mission. The mission of bringing the good times back into the boring and soulless matter that most music is today. No nifty arrangements, no 100 chords to prove that one can play, no frills, just thrills. And with this don’t-bore-us-get-to-the-chorus mentality the boys of Pleasure Addiction started a crusade in 2006, released a demo in 2007, spread rumours about a Beau Hill-produced full platter in 2009 but decided to release another 3 song demo first. The fact that the band switched singers in 2010 may or may not be the reason for this change of plans. I won’t go into debate whether the former man at the helm was equipped with a better set of tonsils or not, fact is that ‘newbie’ El Butcho has steered the band into more melodic territories. Demo-closer ‘Shot Of Poison’ for example has ‘German melodic rock’ written all over it. Anyway, the band, with members of half rockin’ France in it, is a force to be reckoned with and could well earn a spot higher up the melodic rock ladder if they manage to keep the line-up intact for more than 2 years on end and write a full album worth of songs in the same vein of this demo. Get a move on, boys!
