Another trouble-ridden Sleazenation gig it was, with both Highway Jack and Bangkokk cancelling their performance.

Lucky for all involved, Psycho Virginteen stepped up to the plate and filled the Bangkokk slot, keeping the bill full and promising for a good night's worth of rocking & rolling.

Roxx Action stomped the night into action a little after-time. Considering that the venue was still as good as empty then, there was no harm in that.

Their live performance has definitely improved since last time I saw them, there's more confidence in their playing and their overall presence is getting to a point that it's working on a crowd also.

It was a short, but interesting set to hear and see, and I still believe that more will become of these boys.

The only setback here was the sound, possibly due to the small timeframe for the soundcheck, who knows...

On to the next one it was, as Star*Rats kicked the evening up a level.

Their show was a classy example of how a sleazy show should be: by the end of the night, there was beer and spit from floor to ceiling, everybody got something to drink from the band, band members ran around across the venue, mics being pushed in your face to sing along, the whole deal!

Given that this is totally my type of show and music, and given the buzz I was working up at the time, this was a revelation and possibly the gig of the evening.

I'm looking forward to that new cd, there's something to this band that will take them someplace good some day!

Once again, I succeeded in missing one of the bands on the bill (Psycho Virginteen) because I was out for some food. Everybody gets hungry, but my timing was just horrible.

From what I heard from Sandy, they played a decent set, much like the one we saw in Belzele earlier. Unfortunately,the crowd response wasn't as good as it was with the previous band, even though their show was still filled with the powerful hard rockers that could be expected.

I know there's a crowd for their sort of music, given a little more time and word-of-mouth, things will turn out for the best...

Last band of the night was Nasty Nuns, German Sleazerockers with a mission to take Belgium by storm.

The visual part of this band was as complete as it gets: chains, rings, scarves, piercings, sneakers & boots, ...

Musically, the Nuns also stand their ground. It's fair to say that they played a steaming set and have been working hard to get to that point.

Crowd involvement was not as intense as it was with Star*Rats, but who can blame them for that, given the treats that we already got that night?

All in all, Nasty Nuns played their asses off, completed the night beatifully and made some good promo for their upcoming album in that way. After Hollywood Burnouts and these guys, it looks like Germany is a sleaze force to be reckoned with!

We had the Jack Daniel's happy hour, a rock n' roll DJ set and even some female dancers on-stage after that, got to hang out with the bands in different states of consciousness and had the chance to buy the last pieces of merch they had left.

Looking back on the night, it was one of the most crowded Sleazenation events (101 paying punters), and given the last-minute changes to the band roster, one of the better ones still.

It's looking very good for the LA Guns / Pretty Boy Floyd gig if the turnout and response is as good as it was at this gig...
