JettBlack + Reckless Love concert review

Since Belgium is not in the touring plans of Reckless Love yet, we traveled down to glorious London to see former Crashdiëter Olli at work with his new band.

Entering the club just a little too late, we saw the opening band when the place was already filling up. However, these guys grungy style of rock n' roll and the bad sound didn't do it for me. Unfortunately, I didn't get their name either...

Soon after, JettBlack played a different game altogether. They came on and just kicked the show up a notch. Their metally style of rock seemed to work like a charm on the London crowd, and certainly sounds like good things are coming for them in the very near future.

Influenced by many of the idols who came before them, JettBlack is not the most original band around, but their energy and showmanship put them above the pack. A band to look out for!

After JettBlack's short but great set, the band of the evening came on in true rockstar fashion. Band first, frontman/singer after (to enjoy the big cheers he was given instantly, probably).

Playing almost the entire album, Reckless Love is one of those bands with enough experience to maintain their studio level, Olli being the big example of singing on-stage as he does in the studio. No tricks, just true powerful vocals.

Much like JettBlack before them, the RL dudes were happy to be on stage, and weren't afraid to show it. I pity the fool who tried to wipe the content grin of their faces...

Throw in a cover here and there, Olli little dances and costume changes inbetween songs, and the very bubblegum, feelgood music they play, Reckless Love has got what it takes to make it in the big league.

After the Download festival as well as a previous London show, they now know that a devote following is ready in the UK's capital to welcome them time after time...
