In 2009 I was surprised with the excellent release of "Fire - Thrill me". This band from Malta brings you excellent melodic rock with a harder, edgier sound!!

Now, following quickly after this success, Avenue of Allies brings the band's debut work Ignite (originally released in 2006) back to our attention.

A reissue for the band because Ignite was originally self-financed and self-released in the band's home turf, the island of Malta.

This album is melodic hard rock, Eighties-style, with a strong emphasis on the rock n roll part of that era.

Songs like "Conspiracy", "Get Out Of My Way", "Taste This", and especially the fantastic "Fire Flyer" are deliberate rockers.

Fire can also take it down a bit, with a subtle groove on "Manhunter" and a good power ballad is never far away either ("Goin Down..)

Fire is at their best when they combine that spirited rock beat with strong melodies and terrific hooks.

This reissue contains two bonus tracks: a cover of Bryan Adams' "Run To You" and a Christmas song, "Miss You This Christmas".

Overall, Fire's Ignite gives you the band's strong beginnings in creating fundamental melodic hard rock.

If you liked 2009's Thrill Me, you should definitely add this disc to your collection. Recommended.
