Ratt's first piece of work came out in the same year the band was formed, which is a big surprise, seen as they put out a 6-track album with at least 3 hits on it.

"You Think You're Tough", " Tell The World" and "Back For More" might as well still be the main part of any Ratt show, they set a standard for more to come.

Typical for Ratt is that every time you think you can stomp a label on them, you hear one small part that makes you change your mind completely.

"Sweet Cheater" sounds Motörhead-inspired rock n' roll, until you hear Stephen Pearcy nagging his lyrics. Wrong turn.

You're thinking glam rock a second later, but Ratt's just too melodic and harsh to completely match that description either. I believe it's a case of "you love it or you don't".

It rarely happens that I recommend an EP to be a great starter album for anyone who wants to get to know a band, but in this case it's just half a full length: same quality, same expert musicianship, same drive and feel.

After struggling through their entire catalogue, I sincerely trust you will be reaching back to this EP for at least one song. Enjoy!
