Flamedown is an AOR / Westcoast band formed in 2009 by session musicians Charlie Giardina (formerly of Hardway) - on bass, vocals and programming;
Javier Vinas on guitar; and Emiliano Gimenez on drums and percussion.
Some of the band's main influences are Toto, Journey, Chicago and Mr. Mister.
Flamedown released a four track E.P. back in 2010, featuring renowned guitarist Bruce Gaitsch as a guest musician.
The trio has now been signed by Argentinian label Eternal Sunday Records and their debut album is out now

"Flamedown" is a true AOR / Westcoast delight to the ears.

Opener "Weight Of The World" has a mid-tempo pace with great rhythm guitars ! Giardina has a good voiceand sure knows how to sing AOR music.
"Rivers Running Deep" is so Toto....a very nice catchy chorus with some beautiful orchestration.
"Mystic Kind" is another slow tune followed by the awesome AOR ballad "Someday I" , again very Toto like !!
"No One" mixes classic AOR with Westcoast. This is one of the best tracks of the album.
"Voices" is another gem....an amazing AOR song.
"Freedom Bound" very much remind me of Journey....a very melodic song.
The last song "Save Me" focuses on great instrumental arrangements and excellent keyboard parts.

"Flamedown" is a more than a welcomed band into the AOR universe.
From Argentina, a country where AOR music is a 'strange in a strange land",
these guys have delivered a classy melodic album which shows that this fantastic genre has no boundaries.
Great songwriting and musicianship with the help by some of the greats of the L.A. session scene, the music on offer here is clear cut amazing.
Production could be a bit better but this is a minor point, this indie release will surely be in my top-ten this year.
Support this AOR band, "Flamedown" is a labour of love by stupendous musicians, truly fans of the genre.
