Outloud’s history dates back to 2004 in Athens, Greece, when young Tony Kash started taking guitar lessons from Bob Katsionis of the band FIREWIND.
Chandler Mogel (from the US) was contacted and immediately flown in from New York to record at Bob's studio in Greece
and in three days' time the three of them recorded a bunch of songs that surprised even themselves!
Jason Mercury, Tony's best friend, was given the position of the bass player,
while Bob called his band mate at the time, veteran skin-beater Mark Cross with whom he had been playing with in Firewind before.
The five of them started to jam over the existing ideas and added the final arrangements and finishing touch to Outloud’s music
and in September 2008 the band entered Basement Studio in Athens and recorded their debut album.
Mixed and mastered by none other than Tommy Hansen (Helloween, TNT, Pretty Maids),
the album was described by the press as "a mixture of Riot’s Fire Down Under, Skid Row's debut album, TNT’s Tell No Tales with some Foreigner melodic elements."
The album was released in August 2009 - with Sverd T. Soth (Bare Infinity) replacing Jason Mercury on Bass shortly after the release - to rave reviews
worldwide and ended up on many top ten lists by year's end, and the album was voted "Best Album of the Year" in BW&BK/Bravewords.com.
"We Came To Rock" opens with an amazing chorus and hard rocking riffage.
"Falling Rain" is just brilliant. A magnificent melodic hard rocker with a monster guitar solo.
The thunderous "Live Again" follows in a more speeded up pace, with an amazing riff and solid drums.
"Waiting For Your Love" is simply melodic hard rock perfection. A semi-midtempo gem with heavenly vocal harmonies and a terrific chorus.
This is also the bands first single and video !!
The retro "The Night That Never Ends" adds great keyboards to the mix.
"Someday" is a great ballad but not cheesy at all, and follower "Underground" has a massive driven backbone.
With "Isolation Game" the band explores a more contemporary territory, adding variation and style to the album.
"Clean Hands" is a very good '80s melodic rocker and last song, the title track "Love Catastrophe" combines melody with power featuring a killer guitar solo.
Outloud has delivered a terrific Melodic Hard Rock album here...Mogel offers huge vocal performances, while Katsionis and Kash's guitars are a joy throughout.
Don't miss one of the best medlodic rock albums of the year.
Highly Recommended !!
