Nowadays, Belgium seems to be the place where Rock N’ Roll music celebrates it’s rebirth. Now, Rebel Yell combines the power of typical Hard Rock and straight up Rock N’ Roll with a nip of country. Since I was very pleased with the tremendous effort of fellow Belgians Psycho Virginteen, I couldn’t wait to hear what Rebel Yell had in store for me.

Well, I just finished this bumpy ride and it’s definitely a great compilation of Rock N’ Roll influenced tracks. Rebell Yell starts off with “Welcome To The Show”, a song which ignites all engines. “Welcome To The Show” sticks in my mind because Rebel Yell has recorded this track in a way there’s a live crowd in front of them. Very cool!

On the second track, called “Sex Machine”, vocalist/guitarist Diether and ex-Rebel Yeller Cava use a less raw voice than in the previous song. Not a bad thing, it just creates a different R N’ R vibe.

“Yelling Rock N’ Rebels” is a 7 minute + song (!) and brings us a Motörhead-style anthem.  Good song but in my estimation a couple of minutes too long.

On the other hand, In barely 2.30, “Thunder Girl” blasts through my speakers. Bang Bang!

Rebel Yell finishes with “Freak City”, more or less a filler, but this final track still rocks hard!

Overall I can say that Rebel Yell has delivered an entertaining E.P. and I’m very curious about their next move (debut album maybe?) However, some variety in the songs would be appreciated. Get out of the way, Rebel Yell is here to stay!
